Why I built this

Why I built Evercoach

I row. I go to spin classes. Most weekends I am out hiking with friends. And I still want to lift properly in the gym.

The erg, before work. None of this ever reached my training plan.

That combination broke every coaching product I tried.

I had a personal trainer, and he was good. But my week was written on Monday for a life that had already changed by Wednesday, and telling him meant waiting for a reply. Trainwell was better - and fundamentally the same deal. A plan comes down from above, and your job is to arrange your life around it.

The coast path with friends. To every app I had tried, a rest day.

Neither of them ever really counted the rest of what I do. Rowing is training. Spin is training. Six hours on a hill on Saturday is very much training. But to every app I used, those were nothing at all - so I would get a heavy leg day scheduled the morning after a hike, and either do it badly or skip it and feel like I had failed at something.

So I did what a lot of people do now: Hevy for the logging, an AI for the programming. Which worked, and was also slightly ridiculous. I would describe my week into a chat window, get a decent block back, then retype the whole thing into Hevy set by set. Every time anything changed, I did it all again.

And I had quietly lost the one thing the trainer was actually for. Nobody was keeping me honest.

Evercoach is those pieces put together properly.

Two mornings a week with the crew. All of it counts now.

It interviews you instead of handing you a form. It reads your calendar, so it knows about Thursday’s 7am. It pulls in your rows and your rides and your hikes and counts them as the training they are. When your week moves, the plan moves with it - you just say so, and there is no shame in it. And underneath all of that it is a genuinely nice app to train in, because the thing I liked about Hevy was that it never got in the way.

I built it because I wanted it. I am building it now for anyone whose training does not fit in one box.
